On-Line Directory
Our on-line directory is a unique facility which helps to match appropriate creative practitioners to schools/projects. The facility is on our website and is available 24-7. Users of the facility can search for practitioners by art form, age group and town and revisions are being worked on which will enable users to search for practitioners by which Cumbrian district the practitioner will work in.
New Application Process
We have revised our on-line directory approval system with immediate effect to provide more rigorous standards.
Applicants wishing to join the on-line directory will submit their application on-line as normal and we will contact referees. Applicants will then be invited to come into the office to meet with staff and provide more information about their work. Applicants will also be asked to provide a copy of the CRB disclosure and their public liability insurance along with any permissions required to enable us to publish their photos on our website.
When any of the dates expire (CRB forms are valid for 2 years, Public Liability is normally 12 months and permissions for 2 years), we will contact the Creative Practitioner and advise them that their documents are due to be renewed. Failure to produce the necessary documents will result in the applicants details being removed from our database.
We are hoping that this will enable schools, and other people searching for practitioners, to find practitioners who are ready and able to go into schools at short notice (rather than waiting for documents to be processed).
Existing Creative Practitioners
Creative Practitioners already on the system will be contacted over the next 3 months to ask that the necessary documents are submitted to us. The new system will then follow on automatically. All exisiting Creative Practitioners will also be given the opportunity to renew their entry if they wish to reflect more recent work carried out.
We are also making further improvements to the search facility to make finding a creative practitioner easier.
