Developing Creativity Across the Curriculum
Developing Creativity Across the Curriculum
We can offer school based INSET sessions and support to raise awareness of how creativity can apply to all areas of the curriculum. Sessions are tailored to meet the needs of your school and the specific contexts in which you would like the creative learning to particularly develop.
An INSET course that we have successfully run with several schools which is designed to stimulate initial discussion and reflection on the ‘nature of creativity’ and how it can be implemented across the curriculum is shown below.
AN INTRODUCTION TO CREATIVITY
Outline Programme:
1. Brief introduction to the aims of the session and the roles of Creative Partnerships (CP) and Cumbria Arts in Education (CAE) in supporting schools with the development of ‘creativity’.
2. What do we mean by ‘creativity’?
3. What might we mean by ‘creative teachers’?
4. Are creative attributes relevant to the whole curriculum?
5. Research findings
6. Reflection and ways forward.
7. Evaluation
Other areas on which we have successfully developed programmes for schools have focused on:
- The effective development and management of projects involving the support of creative practitioners.
- Providing additional programmes to support school and young people’s achievement such as ‘Young People’s Arts Award’ and Artsmark
Please contact Margaret if you would like further information about these or other INSET sessions that you would like us to develop for your school.
Have you run creativity programmes in your school and would now appreciate some input and support to broaden this out across the curriculum?
We can offer training and courses to support this process.
Please contact us to register your interest in this course and we will contact you regarding possible dates.
